On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received by our company representative. You will take fascinating drive of about 2 hours to the capital Thimphu and check into your hotel. Enjoy the walk around the Memorial Chorten, a huge stupas built in memory of the third King who reigned from 1952 – 1972.
Start the day by visiting the gigantic Buddha Dordenma Statue. After that you will discover Simply Bhutan/Folk heritage museum. Visit Trashichho Dzong – The main secretariat building. It is from here that the King and other prominent civil servants run the country. The Head Abbot and the central monastic body also reside here during the summer. Then walk around takin zoo and visit the National Library where ancient manuscripts are preserved.
After an early breakfast, drive to Punakha. On the way, halt at Dochula for a hot cup of tea/coffee and on a clear day; explore the most spectacular view of the Eastern Himalayan mountain ranges. Towards Punakha take a short village hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of ‘divine madman’ and check into your hotel.
After breakfast drive towards Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten and get mesmerized by the striking Khamsum Yulley monastery. The Chorten was built in 2004.It is about 30 minutes walk uphill from the footbridge in Yepaisa village. After lunch, watch the mystical, the symbol of united Bhutan. The Dzong lies between two rivers, Pochu and Mochu, meaning male and female rivers. Then hike to suspension bridge. It is the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan. It connects to the adjoining villages. After that, adore the beauty of Nunnery Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup lhakhang.
Drive towards Paro and check into your hotel. Visit Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower housing the National Museum, with abundant culture relics. Then experience the beauty of Paro Dzong, perhaps the finest example of Bhutanese architecture as well as a local religious administrative center.
Start the day by hiking Taktsang “Tiger’s nest”. The monastery is perched on a rocky ledge at a height of 9000m above Paro valley and Picnic lunch at Taktsang cafeteria. Later After that, go to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. Then stroll around Paro town for shopping and checkout amazing handicraft.
After breakfast, you will be escorted to the airport.
